Aroni is a village that is located on the Akrotiri peninsula, just east of the city of Chania and not far from the airport. You drive past the village when you drive to the airport via the Souda exit. There are a few churches and restaurants in the village and there is a gas station, a pharmacy and a fantastic supermarket. In this supermarket you will find a very wide range of vegetables, fresh bread, wine and other items. The large pale yellow church of Aroni with its dome and two clock towers is situated on a large square with a memorial and is the eye-catcher of the village.
