Chondros is a a small and traditional Greek village in the south of the island of Crete on the route from the beaches of Keratokampos to Ano Vianos. It is home to abour 200 inhabitants. A lot of the houses in Chondros have fallen into disrepair. In the village of Chondros you find this white church with red roof / dome. It is called the Agios Fanourios Church. Inside Chondros you can also see a second church which is slightly larger and called the Panagia Agios Ioannis. It is situated in the western part of the village.
Just outside the village of Chondros is the Agia Moni Monastery.
Chondros is also the start of the Portella which is a difficult and quite dangerous one and which ends in Keratokampos.
