Tourloti is a traditional mountain village on the road from Agios Nikolaos to Sitia. It is situated on a bus route. The distance to Sitia is approximately 27 kilometers and the coastal town of Agios Nikolaos is 45 kilometers away. Tourloti is located on a hill at 285 meters altitude between the villages of Myrsini and Sfaka and is one of the larger villages in this mountain area (Askordalia) and it overlooks the sea. Just over 400 people live here. There are a number of churches inside and outside the village, such as the large church of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the north side of Tourloti with its three aisles, three half-domes and a bell tower. Just west of the village towards the village of Sfaka along the road are the church of Agia Paraskevi and the small church of Saint Barbara. In the village there are many white-painted houses with shrubs and trees, and there are pots of flowers and plants in the narrow streets. In Tourloti you will find a school, two mini-markets, a taverna, a kafenion and a post office.
