The walk to Lissos is beautiful, very worthwhile and suitable for all ages, with a little bit of condition and some good footwear.
There are differences in height, but no places where it might be scary.
Lissos is uninhabited so bring food and something to drink for the trip, and swimwear for the (stone) beach in Lissos.
The walk starts in the small harbour of Sougia, looking at the sea far right in the bay. There is a sign at the beginning where you immediately enter a small gorge.
There is a little bit of climbing, but very nice. The path is clear, you follow the gorge. After about half an hour you come to a beautiful and striking overhanging cliff.
Note: you keep following the path, but about 10 minutes away there is an exit on the LEFT, and the path goes slowly up the mountain. You no longer follow the gorge.
The path winds up to the plateau, which you cross over (to the West). Just follow the path and at the end of the plateau there are stunning views over the bay and Lissos. The path winds down until you reach the first temple with beautiful mosaics. Continue the path to the sea, all around you are remnants of the old town.
In ancient times Lissos was a "spa", and you can refill your water bottle here at the source, which is still flowing!
Walf down at ease and occasionally rest and enjoy the silence that lasts about 2 hours. You can walk back the same way, which is probably a bit heavier than the first long climb of Lissos back to the plateau. Solution: Captain George can pick you up by boat from Lissos. There is a note with his number on the rock in Lissos near the jetty. Do not wait too long to call , the max is up to 4 to 6 people. You can already contact him in Sougia and tell him what time he needs to be there to pick you up How do you find him? In Sougia everyone knows him!
