In Crete there are several villages named Loutraki. The best known is probably "Loutraki Beach" on the Akrotiri peninsula east of Chania (it is located east of the peninsula just below Marathi Beach). The village of Loutraki described here is also not far from Chania, but just southwest of the city. It is a quiet and traditional village situated in a beautiful and fertile region which is full of orange trees.
Loutraki is accessible via the Chania - Oasis - Agia Lake (exit) - Alkianos - Psathogiannos - Loutraki route, or from the other side from the coastal village of Gerani. Psathogiannos is a typical small village with a beautifully maintained church with a bell tower and small traditional stone houses. Near Loutraki are some nice villages with Byzantine churches, such as in the village Alkianos.
