Vertaling van het Nederlands in het Engels Kontopoula is a small village in the area of the Apokoronas, not far from the city of Chania. It is accessible via the route Megala Chorafia - Malaxa - Kontopoula or from the side of Chania via Nero or Mournies Kouros. The small village is surrounded by olive groves, fields of grapes used used for making wine and fields where vegetables and fruit are grown (tomatoes, melons, lemons and oranges). Just outside the village towards the village Katochori is a nice trail to the church of Agios Antonio (it is also possibly to drive there if you like, but it is a dirt road). You walk past the fields and olive groves to the top of a hill where you find the (closed) church. You have an amazing view and you'll get company of goats and sheep on your way.
