The beach of Kedrodasos on Crete

This beautiful sandy beach is located in the southwest of Crete, not far from Elofonisi on the route Kissamos - Chrisoskalastissa monastery - Kedrodasos. It is an option for the people that like tranquillity and naturists who want to avoid the crowds of the popular beach of Elafonisi and the opposite island. Kedrodasos can be reached (if you come from the north) by taking the exit to Sklavopoula on your left hand side just before Elafonisi. Here the asphalt road turns into a wide path. You more or less follows a straight line and keep to the right. The beach is indicared with yellow arrows (but not with its name). You drive through dry fields with greenhouses where vegetables are grown. You take the second exit on the right hand side. This road ends at a parking lot where you can leave your car. Next you take the path leading down towards the coast. The walk takes about ten minutes.

In Kedrodasos Beach you can find sand dunes and there are many trees for shadow. In the beginning of the beach there are pebbles and there are rocks for privacy. There are also a kind of separate bays with sandy beaches. Further down the beach becomes long and wide and there is space for everyone. Kedrodasos Beach is a 'mixed' beach with people in bathing suits and naturist together. There are no facilities in the shape of umbrellas and sunbeds and there is no taverna, so if you want to go here you have to bring at least a good supply of water.
